Literature Text

Transylvanian Mountains iced my soul,
The freeze being all I had ever known,
Where my frozen heart waits for the one,
In my kingdom where sun was ne’er shown.

I was the ruler of the night,
My only drug being that of the dark,
In my cold castle did I wait,
Until thine melody did hark.

From lands across the many seas,
Underneath the Ra sun,
Your beauty did arrive to me,
And thus new feelings had been spun.

“Osiris sent me,” you did decree,
Attempting to gain my peace,
But staring at you, my desert flower,
I knew I had to have you in the least.

We’ll make a pact, my darling, my dear,
I’ll save your kingdom if you stay true,
Be my servant, my goddess, the dark,
Since now my only drug is you.
Prompt #3 for :iconprompt-a-day:

Meh... I have to say, I knew where I wanted to go with this (in prose or poetry format), but sadly, I wasn't able to make it how I really wanted. It was rushed, and let's face it, rushed writing is never good writing.
Oh, well. I'll probably rework this sometime-- probably into a prose piece, since I feel as though it will work better as a prose than poetry-- unless it's a sonnet to the woman he's speaking to. But, oh, well. It's alright for a rushed attempt.

Great Egyptian characterisation and some light archaic English. :)
I'm just trying to figure out who is she? I just can't remember who was the goddess of the night in Egyptian mythology... Or is she a completely different sort of character altogether...?
